Former Selangor Menteri Besar Dr Mohd Khir Toyo and his entourage spent almost RM1 million on a one-week official trip to France and Morocco in 2004.
The expenditure list included a visit to the Paris Disneyland and a four-day transit stopover at Dubai.
This was revealed by an inquiry being conducted by the state’s Special Select Committee on Competence, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) today.
Among the other revelations in the overseas trip which took place from Dec 17 to 24, 2004 were:
Joining the trip were Khir’s wife Zaharah Kechik, their three children and a maid.
The official delegation spent a total of RM416,000 for the trip.
A ‘reconnaissance team’ which went to make arrangements for the trip spent RM366,000.
The four-day stopover in Dubai cost the state an additional RM10,000.
All the expenses were covered by state investment arm Perbadanan Nasional Selangor Berhad (PNSB).
These details were revealed by PNSB chief executive officer Khairiyah Abu Hassan at the inquiry today.

Perak - 千五人站立鼓掌声中泪盈满眶 尼查要霹雳州人民“干掉”国阵
向来文质彬彬的民联原任州务大臣尼查，昨晚在一场全场气氛热爆的群众讲座会上，声嘶力竭地怒斥国阵以“没有尊严”的方式，抢夺民联政权。
他以广东话促请华裔居多的出席者，“队霖”（广东话，意指干掉）国阵，把国阵赶出霹州。
这场由公正党主办的“解散州议会，还政于民”讲座会，是在怡保精武礼堂举行，获得大约1500人踊跃出席。
斗志激昂的群众，无视早前传出警方已禁止在霹州举办政治座谈会的消息，反而扶老携幼地到场支持民联领袖，特别是看到尼查莅临时，更是鼓起如雷的掌声，久久不息。
由于礼堂面积不大，出席者把现场挤得水泄不通，迟到的民众被迫全程站立在礼堂门口聆听。
虽然华裔出席者占了大多数，但仍可见许多印裔和马来群众，到场支持。
尼查从绅士变街头斗士
这场讲座会共有5名主讲者，即尼查、原任高级行政议员倪可汉、原任行政议员倪可敏及戴成银，和霹州务边国会议员兼公正党全国副主席李文材。
尼查是当晚最后的压轴主讲者。在主讲前，尼查一直都神情平静地坐在席上，聆听其他领袖的演说，并不时露出微笑，向台下的支持者挥手致意。
不过，当轮到尼查站上演讲台时，他已从一名绅士变为街头斗士，火力全开对准国阵开炮。
“未就职就搬空办公室”
在说到他于2月6日被押离州政府办公楼的经历时，尼查甚至泪盈满眶，情绪激动地做出控诉。
“当那个非法的州务大臣还没宣誓，我在早上9点半到州政府办公室时，大臣办公室变成了什么样子！？”
“被搬空了！这就是国阵！无礼至极！没有尊严！”
尼查此时明显可见眼眶通红，但他强忍泪水，没有让泪滴掉下来，也没有伸手去抹泪。
至于台下的群众则不断鼓掌，好让尼查继续演说。
推翻民联是“强奸”宪法
尼查强调，根据霹州宪法，要弹劾一名州务大臣，需得在州议会上通过不信任动议，才是正途。
因此，他说，由“纳吉.阿旦杜亚”所领导的国阵，推翻民联州政权的做法，已“强奸”了宪法。
他大声疾呼，促请群众判决、埋葬及“队霖”国阵，把国阵赶出霹州。
他也呼吁所有出席者，在回家后把此讯息传达出去，要霹州人民永远向巫统说“不”。
民联讥刺赞比里翻版货
较早前，民联领袖对国阵左右开弓，除了指国阵政权非法外，也抨击总警长慕沙哈山被指发出集会禁令的做法违宪。
他们亦不断讥刺国阵州务大臣赞比里，是一名“翻版货”，委任3名具有行政议员地位的顾问，更是涉及滥权舞弊。
其中倪可敏揭露，这3名顾问在受委后，每人将能获得每月至少2万令吉的薪水，更能驾驶丰田佳美（Toyota Camry）官车。
为此，他说，民联将在12日早上11点，到霹州反贪污委员会，举报赞比里委顾问的做法涉及滥权。

阿都拉时代3月31日落幕？纳吉隔天召开首次内阁会议 (Malaysiakini.com)
据悉首相阿都拉将在3月31日正式交棒给副首相纳吉，为这名在位仅有短短4年又7个月的大马第五任首相的时代，正式划上句号。
尽管一些流言蜚语指阿都拉恋栈首相一职，但是《马来西亚内幕者》今日引述消息声称，阿都拉将会如期於3月31日最后一次打卡，离开其布城办公室，并把首相的棒子按照计划交给纳吉。
在纳吉於隔天，即4月1日星期三正式以第六任首相上班，将立即召开他的第一次内阁会议。
史上首对父子先后任首相
一旦纳吉接棒，这将开创我国历史新篇章，即史上首次出现父子两人先后担任首相一职。纳吉的父亲敦阿都拉萨是大马第二任首相。
纳吉在去年的巫统区部提名中，早已不劳而获赢得巫统主席一职。
巫统大会后三天正式交棒
消息指出，由于巫统大会及党选定于3月24日至28日举行，因此阿都拉将在大会后的3天，正式卸下巫统主席，把首相的棒子交给纳吉。
“在伯拉接受巫统党员的要求更换领导层后，他从不曾想过要出尔反尔。”
由于国阵在阿都拉的领导下，在去年308大选面对有史以来最严重的挫折，不但无法赢回吉兰丹，更一举失去4州政权，并且无法保住国会三分之二多数议席的优势。
这导致阿都拉面对巫统内部的压力，以便要求他提早交棒给纳吉。
阿都拉是在2003年10月31日正式从前首相马哈迪的手中，接过首相的棒子，至今仅有短短4年又7个月。
纳吉于1953年在瓜拉立卑出生，他是第二任首相敦拉萨的长子。
在敦拉萨於1976年1月14日逝世后，纳吉代父守土不劳而获，以23岁之龄首度出任北根区国会议员至今。
接着纳吉在1978年的全国大选，不但蝉联北根国会议员，并获得第三任首相胡先翁委任为副能源、电讯及邮政部长，成为我国首名最年轻的副部长。
纳吉曾在1982年至1986年出任彭亨州务大臣，过后受委出任多项重要部长职位，包括文化、青年及体育部长和教育部长等，并在1999年开始担任国防部长至今。

上任不到一周的国阵新任霹雳州大臣赞比里，今早遭到民联向霹雳反贪污委员会举报，指他委任3名具有行政议员地位的大臣顾问，已犯下了3宗罪——贪污滥权、违反宪法和背叛君主。
原任民联行政议员倪可敏是在约50名民联领袖及支持者的陪同下，于今早11点到霹雳反贪污委员会报案。另一名民联原任高级行政议员倪可汉也到场支持。
他们都很有默契地在手臂上绑一条黑丝带，以抗议民主死亡。
在3宗罪名中，民联此次反指责国阵叛君，可被视为是“以彼之道，还施彼身”，反击后者以此作出的连串攻击。
指责赞比里做法等同叛君
赞比里是在昨日委任三人分别出任华裔事务顾问、印裔事务顾问，以及回教事务顾问。
这3人是民政党全国署理主席郑可扬、国大党副主席伟拉辛甘（S Veerasingam），以及峇都古楼州议员莫哈末纳斯慕丁（Mohd Najumuddin Elias），其中郑可扬与伟拉辛甘都是在去年308大选中败选的国阵候选人。
倪可敏指出，州政府委任任何行政议员，都必须获得州苏丹的认可，因此赞比里没有通过苏丹，便委任了3名具有行政议员地位的顾问，等同于叛君。
他在派发给媒体的文告中说，这种做法也违背了我国君主立宪制的原则。
大臣顾问享有7项福利
他列举出这3名顾问所享有的7大福利，并谓之极尽浪费公款能事。
这7项福利是：（一）每月薪金与津贴1万5000令吉；（二）一辆官车与司机；（三）一名特别助理与一名秘书；（四）年终假期津贴2万令吉；（五）每月水电津贴1000令吉；（六）每年置裝费3500令吉；（七）获得军火执照的特权。
倪可敏统计，赞比里聘请每名顾问，每年将“吞噬”24万令吉的公款，3人合共则是72万令吉。
加上宣传主任共花96万
“再加上孟加兰巴鲁州议员韩迪阿布巴卡（Hamdi Abu Bakar），受委为同样具有行政议员地位的州政府宣传主任，享有种种的福利，意味着4人加起来，将让州政府承担每年96万令吉的费用。”
“在现今这种经济环境下，这时一种浪费公款的行为。”
倪可敏表示，赞比里的做法清楚显示其滥权行为，也属于一种贪污政治，好让在308大选中为民所拒的国阵，继续“独肥”。

百人拉队到卡巴星律师楼呛声 巫青团呈备忘录抨侮辱霹苏丹
巫青团今早在卡巴星位于吉隆坡的律师楼展开示威，反击民主行动党主席卡巴星日前恫言起诉霹雳苏丹的举动，并批评后者他和民联违逆和侮辱苏丹。
大约100名巫青团成员於今早10点，在吉隆坡的马来亚银行大厦前举行集会，并游行到半公里外的卡巴星律师楼，抗议卡巴星对霹雳苏丹阿兹兰沙采取法律行动，有辱苏丹。
不过，他们在办公室50米以外范围，就被警方大约20名轻击队队员所拦阻下来。
目前巫青团代表曾与警方谈判，企图派遣代表进入律师楼给卡巴星呈递备忘录。卡巴星当时身处律师楼内。
布条抨击“残障人士是叛徒”
示威的群众手持布条和标语，谴责卡巴星和民联违逆霹雳苏丹的举动，并高喊“逮捕卡巴星”、“逮捕安华”和“陛下万岁”的口号。相关布条写着，“撤消卡巴星公民权”、“卡巴星叛徒”，甚至“我们愿意为苏丹流血”和“残障人士是叛徒”（左图右）。
卡巴星斥非法集会拒绝接见
巫青团尝试在刚才早上10点半呈交备忘录，但由于卡巴星不愿意接见，因此他们不得其门而入，唯有把备忘录放置在卡巴星律师楼门口地上。巫青团成员也在随后15分钟后和平散去。
巫青团恫言每周每日办示威
带领这次抗议示威的沙登巫青团团长翁姑沙列（Ungku Md Salleh）表示，他们要求卡巴星撤回针对霹雳苏丹法律行动；如果卡巴星拒绝，他们会每个星期，甚至每天召集抗议活动。
已有57宗针对卡巴星的报案
另一方面，卡巴星过后在律师楼召开记者会，抨击巫青团举行非法集会，同时也批评警方没有阻止这场集会。
这名武吉牛汝莪国会议员也说明，对巫青团展开抗议行动感到遗憾；如果对方没有举行抗议活动，他其实愿意会晤这些代表。他强调，自己不会屈服于巫青团的压力，而收回成命。
卡巴星还透露，至今已有57宗针对他的警方报案，而昨天已有一名助理警监通过他的儿子，要求与他会面进行调查工作。

安华宣布派印裔上阵武吉士南卯,前莪仑区候选人卡莱瓦南最热门
随着人民公正党武吉士南卯区（Bukit Selambau）州议员阿鲁慕甘（Arumugam a/l Vengatarakoo）昨晚宣布辞职，导致有关州议席宣告腾空后，公正党将有可能派遣印裔候选人在补选披甲上阵。
公正党实权领袖安华昨晚在马六甲表示，由于有关议席属于公正党，因此该党将有很大可能派遣印裔候选人上阵。
卡莱瓦南是上阵热门人选
据悉目前公正党的补选热门人选是曾经在308大选中上阵莪仑区（Gurun)州议席的公正党候选人卡莱瓦南。卡莱瓦南在上届大选中败给马华在吉打州硕果仅存的州议员梁荣光。
公正党议员被视为“软肋”
在霹雳州政权易手之后，民联吉打州政权被视为下一个国阵“颠覆”的目标，而多名在308大选海啸中“意外当选”的多名公正党议员则被视为是国阵下手的“软肋”。
公正党于上届大选中，在吉打州共赢得5州议席，并拥有3名行政议员峇甲亚兰（Bakar Arang）州议员陈暐树、已经呈辞的武吉士南卯区（Bukit Selambau）州议员阿鲁慕甘（Arumugam a/l Vengatarakoo）以及鲁乃区(Lunas)州议员拉兹（Mohd. Razhi Salleh）。至于另两名州议员则是居林区（Kulim）州议员林思年以及西塘区（Sidam）州议员陈楚江。
吉打州共有36州议席，而组成民联州政府的回教党共有16席，公正党5席，至于行动党仅有的1席，则被视为独立议员，国阵则有14席即巫统12席，马华及民政党则分别占有1席。
吉打州民联政府目前共拥有7席的多数席位，只要其中5人跳槽或转向，取得19席的支持，就足以宣告吉打州变天。
至于行动党仅有的1名州议员则是哥打达鲁阿曼 (Kota Darulaman)区议员李源益。
以独立身份上阵击败国阵
阿鲁慕甘今年54岁，1954年11月10日在吉打的双溪大年（Sungai Petani）出生。他是一名飞机工程师，曾留学英国和苏联，并且曾在大马皇家空军服务。
在308大选前，阿鲁慕甘原本是一名独立候选人，以7695张多数票击败国阵的克里斯南，并在中选后才加入公正党。
在308大选提名日，公正党候选人赛夫因为技术问题被驳回资格后，阿鲁慕甘临时以独立候选人的姿态上阵。

讥选委会无法鉴定辞职信
安华指出，阿鲁慕甘曾通知他与公正党主席旺阿兹莎，关于其辞职的决定。
他说，公正党与民联已经做好准备面对补选。
他也揶揄选委会说，“这是假设选委会能够鉴定阿鲁慕甘的辞职。我们担心，选委会可能会说没有辞职信，但是我本身曾见过有关信件。”
针对霹雳武吉干当国会议席的补选，安华表示，他交由回教党去遴选本身的候选人。
公正党实权领袖安华昨晚在马六甲表示，由于有关议席属于公正党，因此该党将有很大可能派遣印裔候选人上阵。
卡莱瓦南是上阵热门人选
据悉目前公正党的补选热门人选是曾经在308大选中上阵莪仑区（Gurun)州议席的公正党候选人卡莱瓦南。卡莱瓦南在上届大选中败给马华在吉打州硕果仅存的州议员梁荣光。
公正党议员被视为“软肋”
在霹雳州政权易手之后，民联吉打州政权被视为下一个国阵“颠覆”的目标，而多名在308大选海啸中“意外当选”的多名公正党议员则被视为是国阵下手的“软肋”。
公正党于上届大选中，在吉打州共赢得5州议席，并拥有3名行政议员峇甲亚兰（Bakar Arang）州议员陈暐树、已经呈辞的武吉士南卯区（Bukit Selambau）州议员阿鲁慕甘（Arumugam a/l Vengatarakoo）以及鲁乃区(Lunas)州议员拉兹（Mohd. Razhi Salleh）。至于另两名州议员则是居林区（Kulim）州议员林思年以及西塘区（Sidam）州议员陈楚江。
吉打州共有36州议席，而组成民联州政府的回教党共有16席，公正党5席，至于行动党仅有的1席，则被视为独立议员，国阵则有14席即巫统12席，马华及民政党则分别占有1席。
吉打州民联政府目前共拥有7席的多数席位，只要其中5人跳槽或转向，取得19席的支持，就足以宣告吉打州变天。
至于行动党仅有的1名州议员则是哥打达鲁阿曼 (Kota Darulaman)区议员李源益。
以独立身份上阵击败国阵
阿鲁慕甘今年54岁，1954年11月10日在吉打的双溪大年（Sungai Petani）出生。他是一名飞机工程师，曾留学英国和苏联，并且曾在大马皇家空军服务。
在308大选前，阿鲁慕甘原本是一名独立候选人，以7695张多数票击败国阵的克里斯南，并在中选后才加入公正党。
在308大选提名日，公正党候选人赛夫因为技术问题被驳回资格后，阿鲁慕甘临时以独立候选人的姿态上阵。

Perak - MP dies, by-election in Perak (TheStar)
BATU GAJAH: The Bukit Gantang Member of Parliament from PAS, Roslan Shaharum, died of a heart attack on Monday morning, paving the way for yet another by-election.
“Once we receive official notification of his death by the Dewan Rakyat Speaker (Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia), we will have a special meeting to discuss when to call for a by-election,” Election Commission chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Yusof told The Star's Malay portal, mStar.
This would be the third by-election since the 12th general election on March 8 last year.
The first was in Permatang Pauh last year when its Member of Parliament Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Ismail stepped down to make way for her husband, now Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, to contest.
Anwar won the seat, which marked his return to Parliament after a decade.
The second was in Kuala Terenganu in January following the death of its MP Datuk Razali Ismail last Nov 28.
PAS candidate Mohd Abdul Wahid Endut won the seat, beating Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh and independent Azharuddin Mamat @ Adam.
The Bukit Gantang constituency has three state assembly seats under it: Trong, Kuala Sapetang and Changkat Jering, whose assemblyman Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu quit PKR last week to become an independent.
The Pakatan Rakyat alliance is already gearing up for the by-election, with Perak DAP chief Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham suggesting former Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin as the ideal candidate.
“I believe Nizar is a symbolic figure in view of the present circumstances in which the state government has been toppled by the Barisan Nasional through an undemocratic and unconstitutional way.
“It is an opportunity for the people of Perak, hopefully through their peers in Bukit Gantang, to express what is in their heart -- whether they will accept the power-grab by Barisan.
“This is the message we want the people of Bukit Gantang to express,” he said before briefing Perak DAP members on the latest developments in the state on Monday.
Barisan wrested the state back from Pakatan last week after three assemblymen quit from their parties (including Mohd Osman from Changkat Jering), and a fourth defected back to Umno from PKR.
While both Barisan and Pakatan hold 28 seats each in the 59-seat state assembly, the three said they would remain independent but pledged their support to Barisan.
This led to the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah, to declare that Barisan had the majority and allowed it to form the state government.
Ngeh said Nizar was well accepted by Malays, Chinese, Indians and orang asli (aborigines).
“Nizar is an efficient leader. I personally believe that he will get full support from the people,” he said.
However, Ngeh said the Perak DAP would accept and support any candidate recommended by PAS.
“There may be other reasons, strategies and plans that PAS may have. We will respect and go full force to assist and support its candidate,” he said.
Meanwhile, according to family members and the police, the 50-year-old Roslan had sent his car to a car-wash near his home in Changkat Larang near here when he complained of chest pains.
He borrowed a bicycle from one of the car-wash workers to go to the nearest pharmacy.
His body was found at a slip road by passersby at 11:15am, Batu Gajah OCPD ACP Najib Mohamad said.
Roslan, who leaves behind a wife and 11 children, was formerly the human resource director of Perak Economic Development Corporation.
Last July, he was named chairman of Perak’s education foundation, Yayasan Perak.
According to Roslan's daughter Fatimah, 21, the whole family had been in Cameron Highlands for a family outing over the weekend when her father received a call on Sunday evening.
He was summoned to a meeting at the home of the former mentri besar Nizar, who has refused Sultan Azlan Shah’s call for him to step down.
“He was there until 1.30 in the morning, and left home at 10am,” Fatimah said.
His wife Safiah Harun, 50, said Roslan had collapsed once about a month ago on an official visit to Taiwan because of a heart problem.
The funeral will be held at 6pm Monday at his kampung (village) in Changkat Larang, she said.
In the March 8 general election last year, Roslan had polled 20,015 votes against Abdul Azim Mohd Zabidi’s (Barisan Nasional) 18,449 votes.
The third candidate was an independent, M. Morgan, who got 872 votes.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat assemblyman for Bukit Selambau, V. Arumugam, who had resigned as the state executive council member, has now gone missing. No one seems to know the whereabouts of the former Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Siamese Community Affairs, Unity, Estate Workers and Indian Community Affairs committee chairman.

Arumugam was absent at the investiture ceremony in conjunction with the birthday of the Sultan of Kedah, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, at the Istana Anak Bukit here this morning.
A check by Bernama at his rented house at the Kelab Cinta Sayang housing area, here, found that the house was locked with no sign of people inside.
According to neighbours, Arumugam was seen leaving the house with family members two days ago.
Efforts to contact him through text messages also proved futile as they went unanswered.
Earlier, Azizan told a news conference that Arumugam had sent his resignation letter to the Sultan of Kedah.
He did not, however, extend a copy of the letter to Azizan.
Azizan said that an aide of Arumugam told him that the Bukit Selambau assemblyman was relinquishing the post due to personal reasons and not because of Pas leadership.

Recently, a group of people claiming to be representing 500 residents of Taman Ria in Sungai Petani submitted a petition to the Sultan of Kedah claiming that a state executive councillor was involved in an affair with a woman.

在民联发动人民力量要求霹雳苏丹收回成命，同意解散州议会重新选举之际，巫统也做出反击，连同数个马来非政府组织举行一场声援霹雳苏丹集会，谴责民联领袖背叛马来王室。
约1000名情绪激动的巫裔集会者当场撕毁与焚烧原任州务大臣尼查的海报，甚至大声要求杀死日前恫言要起诉霹雳苏丹的民主行动党主席卡巴星。
大约500人今午2点开始聚集在怡保市政局大草场，许多集会者在宋谷上面系着一条黄丝带以示效忠与声援王权，另外也有一些人索性在额头上绑着黄丝带或白丝带，并以红字写上“吾皇万岁”（Daulat Tuanku）。
布条声讨尼查背叛民族君王
人潮在下午3点增加至1000人，其中包括包租巴士从其他州属如雪兰莪、森美兰、槟城、吉打与柔佛，千里迢迢前来参与集会的人士。
虽然集会者在烈日下都汗流浃背，但是情绪依然亢奋，不段高喊“吾皇万岁！”、“驱逐尼查！”，以及“卡巴星没教养！”等口号。
集会者也准备多幅布条，其中一些内容将矛头指向民联与尼查，“民联不要成为内奸、君主与马来民族的叛徒”、“尼查是现代马来叛徒”、“将尼查驱逐出霹雳的土地”、“背叛苏丹等于背叛上苍”等等。

“刚才我来得及和怡保警区主任讨论，他向我们保证，警方不会允许尼查和前民联行政议员进入州政府大厦。”

回教党总秘书卡马鲁丁查化和宣传主任玛夫兹都证实罗斯兰的逝世。
根据玛夫兹的了解，罗斯兰今早从华都牙也住家出门骑脚车晨运，但是却在半路跌倒猝死。
回教党党报《哈拉卡》（Harakahdaily.net）引述罗斯里的特别助理沙哈鲁丁阿末（Shaharuddin Ahmad）证实，罗斯兰在中午12点左右送院途中逝世。
罗斯兰的遗体目前停放在华都牙也医院。
随着这名武吉干当国会议员在任内逝世，预料选举委员会将在60天内为这个腾空的议席举行补选。
选区包括章卡遮冷议席
值得一提的是，武吉干当底下共有3个州议席，即十八丁(Kuala Sapetang)、直弄（Trong）和章卡遮冷（Changkat Jering）。

Perak - A funeral and a celebration
Chinese New Year celebrations are still in full swing but for some disgruntled Perakians, it was a time of mourning over the 'death of democracy' in the state.

尽管在春节期间谈“死”是忌讳，但是对昨晚约300名霹雳州请愿民众来说，这项禁忌难以压抑他们心中的愤怒与失望，进而在怡保市的大路旁举办一场“祭奠仪式”，以哀悼霹州民主死亡。
讽刺的是，这场“祭奠仪式”就在新任州务大臣赞比里出席的一项国阵新春团拜活动对面举行，显然是冲着这名才上任一天的霹州第11任大臣。
大臣保安森严却挡不住嘘声
也许是为了避免受到集会者的骚扰，赞比里（左图）在多名保镖的护送下抵达举办团拜的怡保育才华小，并沿着数十名警察与自愿警卫队组成的人墙进入礼堂。然而密不透风的保安还是阻挡不了百名站在校门外的请愿者所发出的嘘声与喝倒彩，尴尬的赞比里只能继续与迎接他的人群握手，不当一回事。
不过，赞比里进入礼堂后却受到里头近1500名华裔民众的欢迎，纷纷与他握手与招手。
菊花白蜡树奠祭民主神主牌
这时学校对面的“祭奠仪式”也展开，大多是华裔的集会者开始点燃白蜡烛与手握白色菊花，聆听公正党社运分子黄思敏的演讲，谴责霹雳民主在国阵夺取政权后已咽下最后一口气。
“但是记住，这不意味着民主不能恢复。”
他也带领集会者高喊“人民万岁”、“解散州议会”、“还政于民”以及“民主万岁”等口号。
烛光会进行大约20分钟后，黄思敏就呼吁大家将菊花与蜡烛摆放在一副写着“奠民主”的黑白“神主牌”周围，准备结束“祭奠仪式”。

部分集会者也不断诅咒日前退党转支持国阵的九洞州议员许月凤，将她视为泄愤对象。
一名集会者甚至在海报上写着“许月凤请你尽快去死，以便九洞补选”，并以海报来代替“神主牌”，还祭上一盒米粉。
然后大家就拿出还未点燃的白蜡烛，要为许月凤上香。
李文材赶拜“民主神主牌”
公正党务边国会议员李文材在烛光会结束之前才赶来，甫抵达就跪在“神主牌”前做状膜拜。其他出席的民联领袖包括公正党迪遮区州议员郑立慷、新邦波赖区州议员曾敏凯、行动党德彬丁宜区州议员黄文标，以及民联行政议员苏健祥。
数十名制服警察与数名轻装镇暴队全程在现场维持交通，不过并没有干预集会的进行。警方也封锁育才华小前的道路。

另一边厢，在育才华小礼堂内，赞比里上台演讲时，台下1500名出席者反应冷淡，与原任民联州务大臣尼查在去年大选后出席斗母宫的一场活动，但是华裔群众的热烈反应明显有别。
赞比里在演讲时极力讨好台下的华裔出席者，展示他对华人传统的认识，大谈12生肖与“水”这项五行元素。
他表示，相信霹雳人民将象牛一样强壮，然后突然就大谈“水”，不过却让在场出席者听的一头雾水。
“如果有火就用水，如果人们口渴，就给他们水，这些都会让我们更冷静（sejuk hati）。国阵不用火，我们不会以火玩火。”
“身为你们面前谦卑的州务大臣，我不敢说自己是最好的，我总是相信我们必须合作，为了我们第一无二的州属，成为马来西亚最成功的州属。”
虽然他声称本身是所有霹雳子民的大臣，但是其15分钟的演讲却只换来零零散散的掌声。
一直到他宣布拨款给育才华小华乐团3万令吉时，几乎全程的出席者才起立拍掌。
20分钟烟花表演叹为观止
赞比里完成演讲后就立即在重重保安下离开学校，当他坐上座车时，警方人员更一路奔跑围着其座车，一直到他离开烛光会地点。集会者也不忘再次以嘘声和倒彩来“欢送”赞比里。

Ku Li: Why Nizar is still the MB ( The Star)
PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin is still the Perak Mentri Besar until he resigns of his own accord, or is removed by a vote of no-confidence in a formal sitting of the State Assembly, said Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.
“Only the answer of the assembly counts, regardless how many sworn statements, defections, press conferences and declarations, or what forms of advertisement, display, inducement or force you bring to bear on the question,” he said in a statement yesterday.
“The Constitution makes no provision for his removal by any other means, including by petitions or instructions from any other authority,” he added.
He also said that a legitimate constitutional government draws all its authority from the consent of the people and only from that consent. The people consent because it is their government formed according to their constitution, whose leader is chosen through free and fair elections.
“To formally test the mandate of the current government, the question must either be put to the people through state elections, or to assemblymen through a formal vote in the Dewan,” said Tengku Razaleigh.
He said to remove and install governments in any other way was to violate the Constitution, erode the rule of law and run the risk of forming an illegal government.

Zambry: 'I am MB for all in Perak' (The Star)
IPOH: Perak belongs to all Perak people, and not to any particular group or party, said newly appointed Mentri Besar Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.
“This is the state for all of us. I am not the Mentri Besar for one particular race or particular party. I am the Mentri Besar for all ethnic groups in Perak,” he said in his speech during the Perak Chinese New Year open house in Kg Simee on Saturday.
On talk that he belonged to and served only a particular group, Zambry cleared the air by saying:
“The answer is no, and no and no. Zambry is here to serve all Perak people including the opposition parties.
“I will ensure that there is fairness to all people in the state,” said Dr Zambry, who was attending the first function as the Mentri Besar after he was sworn in at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar on Friday.
He called on all Perak people to restore confidence, peace and stability to their state.
“This is the key for the state to progress into a better place for our future generations,” he said.
Dr Zambry said the best way to solve any problem or difference was through consultation.
“We should not fight on the streets because that is not our way. We should not take the law into our hand.
“The most important thing is prevail the stability in the state and be reconciled to work together,” he said.
Later, he had a question and answer session with reporters, his press conference after taking over as Perak Mentri Besar on Friday.

Q: What is your view on yesterday’s illegal gathering near the Iskandariah Palace.
A: They like street demos. Let the people see what they are like. I am confident that the majority of the people want peace. Any type of crisis must be settled through legal means and the process of the law.
Q; Isn’t your appointment sudden, too?
A: It is not. It was done by due process of the law. They (Pakatan Rakyat) are the ones who created that perception. My main challenge is to tell the public that it is done according to the rule of law.
It is the Sultan’s prerogative and absolute power to appoint anybody he deemed fit to be the MB of Perak. He (Nizar) should as himself also, by convention he knows who is supposed to be MB.
But the Sultan decided to appoint him. That is the absolute right of the Sultan. The Perak Sultan knows the law. He is the former chief justice. Thus his actions must have been based on the provisions of the law.
Should the Sultan later ask me to vacate, I will abide. This is a matter of principle. It is not whether I should be appointed or otherwise, because the Sultan has the absolute right. Anyone including me, must categorically state that if the Sultan feels that I am not fit anymore, or if we don’t have the majority, the Sultan has a say.
Q: Do you feel secure in your position as MB especially since the three who threw their support behind Barisan have not joined any component parties, thus there is still some possibility that they might change their allegiance?
A: They are Independents who are friendly towards the Barisan. We always follow the rule.
Q: You might have been appointed by the Sultan, but do you think that you have the mandate of the people?
A: My appointment is also mandated by the people since it is based on the number of representatives in the state assembly that we have.
Q: What are you going to do to correct the people’s perception of you?
A: We have to go to the people and ask them to remain calm. My number one priority is to advise the people to look at the issues from the proper perspective.
Q: Will the three independents be given exco positions?
A: We will announce when the day comes. We will see the exco line-up when I make announcement.
Q: Will you have trouble deciding on your exco line-up that is racially balanced?
Q: I will take that into account. There are ways.
A: No particular race is going to be left out.
Q: Will Barisan support the appointment of Hee Yit Foong (Jelapang state assemblyman) as deputy speaker?
A; We will look into it. I will make a decision.
Q: Nizar has yet to vacate the official MB residence.
A: Let him be if he does not want to vacate. The important thing is not the official residence, but continuing to serve people. Let him use the house and the official car. Even if that means I will not be able to move in, I don’t mind. I can operate from my house.
Q: There are no Indian representative in Barisan Nasional.
A: I will have to look into that. I don’t want any particular community to feel left out.
Q: What about the policy to give freehold title to Chinese New Villages

“This is the state for all of us. I am not the Mentri Besar for one particular race or particular party. I am the Mentri Besar for all ethnic groups in Perak,” he said in his speech during the Perak Chinese New Year open house in Kg Simee on Saturday.
On talk that he belonged to and served only a particular group, Zambry cleared the air by saying:
“The answer is no, and no and no. Zambry is here to serve all Perak people including the opposition parties.
“I will ensure that there is fairness to all people in the state,” said Dr Zambry, who was attending the first function as the Mentri Besar after he was sworn in at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar on Friday.
He called on all Perak people to restore confidence, peace and stability to their state.
“This is the key for the state to progress into a better place for our future generations,” he said.
Dr Zambry said the best way to solve any problem or difference was through consultation.
“We should not fight on the streets because that is not our way. We should not take the law into our hand.
“The most important thing is prevail the stability in the state and be reconciled to work together,” he said.
Later, he had a question and answer session with reporters, his press conference after taking over as Perak Mentri Besar on Friday.

A: My retort is that does he think that he is legitimate?
